“Ultra-processed food may be linked to cancer”

This attention-grabbing headline was a huge success in that it provoked various journalists and broadcasters to give it prominent column inches and airtime, whilst seeking the opinion of various media foodies.  That they mostly dismissed the headline as scaremongering made me want to scratch a bit deeper and see what sort of study had reached this conclusion.

Hormone Disruptors

A key area I consider when my pre-conceptual clients are looking to optimise their fertility, is how much exposure they may have to chemicals or ‘xenoestrogens’.  The modern environment can bring us into contact with many different chemicals, both industrially, in the home, through our beauty products and through our diet.  We inhale them, ingest and absorb them, with implications for our health and reproductive ability.
