Eleanor Strang BSc NT Dip ION mBANT CNHC

Eleanor is passionate about helping people understand the importance of good nutrition for optimising health and well-being.  With a love of food and cooking, Eleanor first qualified with the world renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, before completing a BSc in Nutrition at The University of West London.  Both courses taught the Functional Medicine model, which looks to explore upstream root causes of illness, rather than merely suppressing downstream symptoms of ill-health.
“It never ceases to amaze me how small changes in the diet can make big differences to health”
After nine years of clinical practice, Eleanor supports a range of clients who are either referred by medical practitioners or come to her clinics direct.  By taking the time to listen, asking the right questions and learning about current lifestyle and diet choices, Eleanor can suggest changes that are designed to make a real difference, or that specifically support particular health conditions.  Her areas of specialisation are digestive and gut health, autoimmunity, as well as gluten sensitivities and supporting pre-conceptual health/fertility.
Functional testing through reputable laboratories can usefully confirm suspected but undiagnosed health issues, that may be contributing to symptoms.
  • PCR Stool testing can reveal Microbiome imbalance and any underlying root causes of IBS.
  • Breath hydrogen testing can confirm suspected Lactose intolerance or SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth).
  • The DUTCH test can explore hormonal issues.
  • Urine testing can reveal nutrient insufficiencies via organic acids.
  • Autoimmunity, gut hyper-permeability, and gluten issues can be confirmed through Cyrex blood tests.
Eleanor is a member of the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), associate member of the Royal Society of Medicine and ‘Food and Behaviour Research’ and is registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). She is also an  advisor to Dr Morton’s – the medical helpline’ and  QluHealth – DNA testing
